On September 5, KRiMM agricultural company launched a potato processing plant in the Tyumen region.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ivan Lebedev, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Alexander Moor, Governor of the region, Meeuwes Brouwer, Agricultural Advisor of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Russian Federation, as well as regional Duma deputies and business representatives.
“It is the pioneering plant of such kind in the region. Tyumen enterprises are now able not only to produce marketable potato, but also to utilize sufficient areas into the crop rotation structure and to produce seeds for other agricultural producers. Today we can add processing to the list – something which many other regions can not boast. It is definitely an innovative and ground-breaking approach,” highlights Ivan Lebedev, adding that the success is partly due to the region’s government.
“It has been initially planned that the new company will use advanced scientific developments and innovative technologies. Today, KRiMM is a brand of Tyumen agricultural complex,” states Alexander Moor. “We are proud to have a company, that has been created from scratch, and which now is a leading example for other agricultural producers.”
The plant of Agrofirma KRiMM LLC, based in Uporovo settlement, possesses a capacity of 30 thousand tons. It is the first plant of such class in Russia. The construction started in 2017; total area of production site is 11,400 m2; more than 1.1 billion rubles were invested in the project.
The Governor stressed that producers’ first and foremost task was not only to produce vegetables and potatoes, but also to engage in their advanced processing.
“The government is always willing to support such forward-looking projects and companies, and they are able to receive federal support as well. It is the first step in the development of advanced processing,” says Alexander Moor.
Sergey Korepanov, Chairman of the Tyumen Regional Duma, congratulated the plant’s employees on the launch on behalf of the deputies. He is confident that the new plant will cement the Tyumen region’s status as one of the largest potato producers in the country.
