Machine building and instrument making for the oil and gas industry are the key and promising areas of mutually beneficial cooperation between the Tyumen region and Germany.
It was stated by the Governor of the Tyumen region, Alexander Moor, at a working meeting with the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ekaterinburg, Matthias Kruse, who arrived in Tyumen to attend the oil and gas forum.
“The Tyumen region is one of the steadiest Russian regions economy-wise and socially-wise. Our economy growth exceeds average Russian indices. The key to the positive dynamics is the development of industry. Now, this segment accounts for the major part of the gross regional product,” noted the Governor.
In 2018, the industrial production index exceeded 110 %. The Tyumen region is one of the leaders of the National Investment Climate Rating. Inflow to the regional economy reached 380 billion rubles in 2018. Over 50 major enterprises have been launched over the past 10 years; 9 of them were established by foreign companies, including those with German assets.
“There is an efficient system for business state support established in the region. Tax benefits and administrative support are offered to each new investor (including international ones),” said Alexander Moor.
Germany is among top ten major international trade partners of the Tyumen region. Turnover over the past few years has been positive, amounting to 738 million USD in 2018. At the end of the first half of 2019, exports to Germany almost tripled compared to the previous year.
The Tyumen region and Germany also closely cooperate in education, added the Governor. In 2015-2018, the region and DEULA-Nienburg Academy successfully implemented a pilot dual-training project to train multi-skilled mechanics for agriculture.
In 2019, the Tyumen farmers began training to produce hard cheese and to improve the quality of milk processing. The farmers will undergo practical training at private cheese factories in Lower Saxony. The Tyumen region and Germany are planning to launch joint educational programs for tourism and hotel service professionals.
“We are open for mutual cooperation in various fields with our German partners. The Tyumen region is ready to discuss any projects for industrial cooperation, establishment of enterprises for oil and gas machine building, instrument making and oil service in the Tyumen region, including in Tyumen industrial parks, as well as cooperation in food and agricultural products processing. The region is also eager to support projects in culture, science, and education,” highlighted Alexander Moor.
The Governor invited Matthias Kruse and German entrepreneurs to actively participate in 2020 Tyumen Oil and Gas Forum.
The Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ekaterinburg thanked Alexander Moor for the region’s business environment favourable and comfortable for German companies.
“The companies established by German investors are actively and successfully operating in the Tyumen region, creating new jobs and contributing to the welfare of the region. German investors are satisfied with the support provided by the regional Government,” said Matthias Kruse to media.
