During the working session held by the Governor of the Tyumen Region Alexander Moor on 15 May, the issues regarding the development of export capacities of the Tyumen manufacturers were discussed.
According to the Urals Customs Administration, the geographical scope of export supplies expanded considerably in 2019. The Tyumen manufacturers supplied their products to 102 neighboring and distant foreign countries. Among them, there are the Netherlands, France, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Poland, Belgium, Finland, Germany, the Republic of Belarus, the USA, and Latvia. The main exported goods are as follows: fuel, organic and chemical compounds, plastics, electric machinery and equipment, wood and woodwork.
In view of the results of the 1st quarter of 2020, the export portfolio did not change, however, the number of the exporting companies decreased. There was a decline in the export supplies of fuel and oil products, dairy products, and electrical equipment. Alongside with that, the Tyumen exporters have entered the new markets in Cambodia, Malaysia, Japan, and Cameroon this year.
The export volumes of the agricultural enterprises have increased by 36%. The major exporting enterprise for the period of 2018-2020 has become Zavodoukovsky Butter Plant LLC, which export share of fat and oil products is over 50%. This year, “Agrofirma “KRiMM” LLC has made its first delivery of potato seeds to Europe. In the short term, the company plans its first export shipment of dairy products to China.
The measures taken by the Tyumen Region Government to support exporting companies help strengthen the region export capacities. Moreover, the organization of international visits and business missions is rather effective for business relations between the region entrepreneurs and those from foreign countries. In 2019, small and medium-sized enterprises of the Tyumen Region entered into 38 export contracts through the efforts of the Regional Support Export Center. There were held 5 visiting and 5 reverse business missions and 10 international exhibitions. The permanent expositions of products manufactured by the Tyumen enterprises were organized in China (Shanghai) and Kazakhstan (Alma-Ata, Nur-Sultan). The volume of supported exports reached 3.191 million US dollars.
Based on the results of the working session the participants reviewed the proposals on state support and instruments of financial assistance for the purposes of expanding the presence of the Tyumen manufactures in export markets.
