1. Atmospheric Air

In 2020, just as in 2019, there were 17 cases when the normative parameters of air quality were exceeded in Tyumen.

There also were five cases of exceeding maximum allowable concentrations of cumulative additives: sulfur dioxide + nitrogen dioxide + carbon monoxide + phenol – 2 cases; sulfur dioxide + nitrogen dioxide + phenol – 2 cases; sulfur dioxide + phenol – 1 case (in 2019 – 1 case: sulfur dioxide + nitrogen dioxide + carbon monoxide + phenol).

During the year there were 43 observed cases of unfavorable meteorological conditions (UMC) (there were 20 such cases in 2019), increased air pollution levels have not been recorded.

The exposure dose rate of gamma radiation in the area of Tyumen did not exceed natural background values.

In 2020, just as in 2019, there were no cases when the normative parameters of air quality were exceeded in Tobolsk.

2. Surface waters

In 2020 there were 11 cases (in 2019 – 22) of high manganese pollution of the water of the Tura, Tobol and Uk rivers.

In 2020 there were 10 cases of extremely high manganese pollution (in 2019 – 18) – in the rivers of Uk, Vagai, Demyanka, Turtas, Iska, Tura and Lake Andreevskoe.

High and extremely high pollution of river water with manganese has been mostly attributed to natural factors.

In 2020 there were no recorded cases of low content of dissolved oxygen in river water (as in 2019).

3. Emergency situations with environmental consequences

There were no recorded natural or technogenic emergencies with environmental consequences in 2020, just as in 2019.
